About the position

The Catering Manager at Nationals Park is responsible for overseeing in-house catering operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and managing all aspects of catering functions. This role involves coordinating with sales and culinary teams, maintaining catering equipment, and fostering strong relationships with clients and guests to enhance their experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of all catering functions.
  • Coordinate activities with catering sales and culinary teams.
  • Oversee catering equipment maintenance and inventory.
  • Ensure all catering services exceed guest expectations.
  • Communicate client needs through detailed written and verbal communications.
  • Develop location-specific food and wine knowledge.
  • Initiate contact with clients to secure food and beverage selections in advance.
  • Hold team accountable to steps of service for great guest service.
  • Ensure team members deliver heartfelt hospitality consistently.
  • Maintain show quality standards at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and guests.
  • Obtain feedback from clients and guests to improve operations.
  • Support and communicate company initiatives.
  • Assist in departmental guest service issues.
  • Execute menus, promotions, and programs as outlined by the Director of Catering.
  • Achieve daily sales and assigned cost goals.
  • Employ good safety and sanitation practices.
  • Follow and enforce responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Complete required department reports and comply with month-end closing.
  • Ensure team members adhere to company guidelines.
  • Promote the sale of profitable services.
  • Prepare account forecasts and analysis of group sales.
  • Ensure complete billing for client services and receipt of payments.
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team members.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings to ensure open communication between management and team members.
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop team members according to guidelines.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a food and beverage operational position.
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management is preferred.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and retail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
