About the position

The Catering Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations, ensuring exceptional service and high-quality food offerings for various events. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The manager will work closely with clients to understand their needs, coordinate with kitchen staff, and ensure that events run smoothly from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Manage catering operations, including planning and executing events in a corporate work environment with a tech company.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team and clients to develop customized catering menus that meet their preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Supervise staff and ensure adherence to food safety standards and quality control measures.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels within budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during events.
  • Conduct interviews and train new staff members in catering service standards and procedures.
  • Prepare budgets for catering events and monitor expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Track orders, payments, and perform weekly billing.
  • Assist with operations of Cafes (breakfast, lunch, dinner service) as needed when catering is slow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in corporate catering for clients with high education levels.
  • Strong knowledge of catering operations and event planning processes.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient in budgeting and financial management related to catering services.
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques and various cuisines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and staff alike.
  • Previous experience with restaurants or corporate dining is preferred.
