The role involves soliciting, negotiating, and booking new and repeat business through various efforts, including outside sales calls, email outreach, referrals, and networking. The manager will notify and coordinate customer specifications with other departments and respond quickly and efficiently to customer issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects. The manager will maintain accurate and legible records and files to provide group history and enhance future prospects. They will plan, upsell, and detail the program with the client, including verification and modification of space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes, and decorations. Additionally, the manager will monitor and control individual event budgets and details to maximize revenues and minimize expenses while ensuring the delivery of a quality product. Communication with customers regarding event details will be crucial, and the manager will follow up post-event for feedback and to close account billing. Throughout the event process, the manager acts as a liaison between the hotel and the customer, ensuring that their presence is known and available to solve problems or suggest alternatives as needed. The role also includes leading pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups and facilitating various meetings as necessary, such as Banquet Event Order meetings and block reviews.
