About the position

The Catering Sales Manager at Aventura Catering, located in the Phoenix Convention Center, is responsible for managing convention, corporate, and social catering accounts. This role focuses on achieving revenue targets while ensuring successful event execution. The position offers a base salary with potential monthly commissions based on performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with existing clients, supporting both recurring events and one-time groups.
• Promptly respond to customer inquiries and requests.
• Create and present proposals and contracts tailored to client needs.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance revenue through upselling and additional services that exceed client expectations.
• Collaborate with on-site event planners to ensure a seamless event experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or equivalent professional experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in catering sales.
• Familiarity with major convention centers, convention hotels, or large social markets.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, capable of engaging with a diverse range of clients and team members.
• Knowledgeable in menu planning and food presentation.
• Experienced in banquet and event service operations.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks while demonstrating creativity and a proactive sales approach.
• Strong project management skills with a focus on communication.
• Ability to meet deadlines and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
