About the position

The Catering Sales Manager at Marriott Prattville is responsible for proactively seeking and securing group and catering opportunities to drive revenue growth and enhance customer loyalty. This role emphasizes strong negotiation skills, customer relationship management, and collaboration with the hotel service team to ensure exceptional service delivery and adherence to brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek and secure group and catering opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Build strong customer relationships and deliver service excellence with each guest experience.
  • Collaborate with the hotel service team to foster a culture of exceptional customer service and teamwork.
  • Negotiate hotel services and execute PCH's Group Sales Agreement for business opportunities.
  • Act as the primary customer liaison during events and programs, ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new group/catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
  • Understand market conditions, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, to leverage in the sales process.
  • Close advantageous opportunities for the hotel while considering market conditions and hotel requirements.
  • Utilize strong negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to close business deals and negotiate contracts.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing and potential customers for future bookings.
  • Conduct sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows to promote the hotel.
  • Utilize Marriott Global Source and eTools to enhance sales effectiveness and streamline processes.
  • Monitor same-day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and manage hotel occupancy levels.
  • Conduct site inspections to showcase the hotel's facilities and services to clients.
  • Prepare and create contracts for successful business transactions.
  • Refer potential clients to other PCH properties to meet customer needs.
  • Engage with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, addressing concerns promptly.

Requirements

  • Mid-level sales experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to close deals effectively.
