About the position

The Catering Sales Manager at Schulte Hospitality Group is responsible for driving customer loyalty and growing the hotel's share of accounts through exceptional service and strategic sales efforts. This role involves identifying and soliciting new accounts, negotiating contracts, and ensuring all aspects of customer communication are effectively managed. The position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about hospitality and committed to delivering a positive experience for clients and guests alike.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the hotel brand and strategy.
  • Drive customer loyalty to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence.
  • Identify and solicit new accounts through telemarketing, appointments, site tours, cold calls, and inquiries.
  • Provide advice to clients on hotel facilities and services for groups and events.
  • Establish a client base through direct sales efforts to secure business for the hotel.
  • Negotiate food and beverage, function space, room rates, and hotel services to meet revenue goals.
  • Achieve predetermined sales goals for revenue and sales activity.
  • Negotiate contracts according to company standards.
  • Ensure all solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented.
  • Conduct tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertain qualified potential clients.
  • Provide prompt and accurate responses to client requests for proposals and information.
  • Monitor local competitors and compare operations.
  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports as directed by the DOS/GM.
  • Participate in Quarterly/Annual Business and Marketing Plans and assist with the budget process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in hotel or conference Catering/Sales experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
