About the position

The Catering Sales Manager at B Ocean Resort is responsible for developing the wedding market and social events, securing new accounts, and maintaining existing relationships to maximize hotel profitability while ensuring guest satisfaction. This role involves overseeing client functions, responding to inquiries, creating proposals, and executing events according to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a client base through direct sales efforts to secure business for the hotel.
  • Actively prospect and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Respond to event inquiries promptly and create proposals and contracts.
  • Sell, detail, and execute all events, negotiating packages and services within approved guidelines.
  • Produce sales contracts, catering event orders, and event resumes accurately.
  • Monitor inquiry calls and provide client proposals according to departmental policies.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to facilitate agreed services.
  • Check function room setups prior to guest arrival to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Welcome group contacts upon arrival and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and ensure all functions are set up and broken down according to schedule.
  • Conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
  • Entertain clients in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain client files and update information daily.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows and conventions, participating in sales trips to key markets.
  • Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments.

Requirements

  • Some college education plus 1-2 years of sales or catering-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations preferred.
  • Experience with CRM software and Salesforce.
  • Basic math skills and budgeting experience.
  • Strong communication skills and hotel experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Familiarity with catering menus and food service operations.
