About the position

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding personal catering sales goals while assisting the catering team in achieving their objectives. This role involves soliciting new accounts, managing client relationships, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Solicit new accounts and make cold calls to generate business.
• Respond to telephone and walk-in inquiries regarding catering services.
• Write banquet menus, memos, and event orders.
• Review and revise Catering department guarantee sheets and weekly event sheets.
• Perform administrative duties including inputting BEOs and resume preparation.
• Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
• Conduct site inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Tour clients and provide information about the property using effective sales techniques.
• Negotiate, prepare, and write contracts, entering information into the Daylight system.
• Accurately block meeting space and guest rooms.
• Use the Daylight call reporting system consistently.
• Assist with banquet leadership responsibilities to meet operational standards.
• Interact with clients to determine needs and direct staff accordingly.
• Review guest service score reports and take necessary actions to exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

• Strong writing skills in English.
• Mid-level computer skills, including proficiency in using a moderately complex computer system.
• Leadership skills to manage and motivate the catering team.
• Negotiation skills to effectively close sales and contracts.

• Experience in the food and beverage industry.
• Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations accurately.
