About the position

The Catering Team Associate/Driver is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality food and beverage services for various events. This part-time, temporary role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring food safety and presentation standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Culinary Operations to create and execute seasonal menus that showcase creativity and quality.
  • Prepare, cook, and present food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with event planners and clients to understand catering requirements and preferences.
  • Manage food inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling of all ingredients.
  • Load and unload catering supplies and equipment for events, utilizing appropriate tools such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
  • Deliver catered items to event locations in a timely manner, ensuring quality and presentation are maintained.
  • Provide excellent customer service during events, addressing any client concerns promptly.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down catering stations at event venues.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment in compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in catering or food service is preferred.
  • Valid ServSafe certification required.
  • Ability to operate delivery vehicles such as vans or box trucks safely.
  • Experience with heavy lifting and warehouse operations is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions accurately.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work evening, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Culinary degree or relevant culinary certifications preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving practices is a plus; experience as a delivery driver or courier is beneficial.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
