About the position

The part-time Substitute Teacher at Regina Caeli Academy is responsible for teaching in a classical and Catholic classroom environment for up to 12.5 hours per week. This role is designed for individuals who are called upon as needed when regular staff are unavailable, providing flexibility in scheduling. The academy emphasizes a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship and requires the substitute to embody the Catholic faith in their daily life.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classical and Catholic classroom setting as needed.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Complete required online training videos and assessments before teaching.
• Sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Timeliness and reliability.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all appropriate sacraments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Experience in ministry within a Catholic parish.
• Teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
• Teaching in a classical or private school.
