About the position

The Sales Representative plays a crucial role in the field sales team, focusing on customer interactions to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions related to Animal Health products. This position is responsible for developing customer strategies, managing territory accounts, and collaborating with various teams to drive sales growth while ensuring that Animal Health is recognized for its value and innovations. The role requires residing within the assigned territory, which covers Southwest Wisconsin, and involves significant travel to meet with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate product information in a meaningful way tailored to individual customer needs.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned customers, engaging with key personnel to understand their business models and identify opportunities.
  • Develop customer strategies that outline interaction plans, solutions, and potential offerings to drive sales growth.
  • Create territory and account plans for all assigned customers to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with National Account Managers and other teams to maintain a strong focus on accounts and drive sales growth.
  • Work across species teams to enhance knowledge of the entire Animal Health product portfolio.
  • Share insights and strategies with team members to foster growth and development within the team.
  • Analyze sales results monthly and manage expenses within budget guidelines.
  • Identify and select programs/services to address customer needs and provide educational opportunities.
  • Work with leadership to develop and deliver relevant offerings that meet customer needs.
  • Stay informed about Animal Health products, industry trends, and competitor landscape to influence sales trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agribusiness, Marketing, Business, or Agriculture.
  • Familiarity with the Ruminant and/or agriculture industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to use an iPad.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel overnight and some weekends.
