About the position

The Supply Chain Manager position at Home Depot is designed to develop, implement, and monitor solutions that optimize the supply chain processes. This role is pivotal in managing data analytics and reporting for the supply chain team, ensuring effective communication across all business partners to drive down costs and eliminate inefficiencies within the organization. The manager will be responsible for analyzing data independently, drawing actionable conclusions, and preparing concise executive-level summaries that are easy to understand. In addition to data analysis, the Supply Chain Manager will develop and build processes, evaluate opportunities, and create implementable solutions. This includes facilitating a metrics program to measure improvements in the supply chain. The role requires coordination of cross-functional teams, seeking feedback, and tracking results to ensure that supply chain objectives are met. The manager will also support merchants during product line reviews, vendor negotiations, and merchandising initiatives, addressing any supply chain issues that arise. Furthermore, the position involves developing best practices and key learnings within the supply chain team, as well as managing and developing the supply chain team itself. The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the CB Director of Supply Chain and will have 1-4 direct reports, indicating a leadership role within the organization. The position typically requires overnight travel of 5% to 20% of the time, and the working conditions are primarily in a comfortable indoor environment, with minimal physical demands.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in supply chain management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Access, Excel, and SQL/Queries is a must.
  • Strong supply chain data analysis skills with proven ability to improve supply chain processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Understanding of SAP transactions related to order creation and interface with TMS/WMS.
  • Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), and Excel VBA.
  • Ability to develop independent SQL processes/jobs.

  • Interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.
  • Ability to face unstructured situations and require original approaches.
  • Experience in activity-based costing or line-level costing.
  • Knowledge of developing supplier scorecards and working with suppliers to improve KPIs.
