About the position

The Aircraft Mechanic I - NDI Level II position at Vertex Aerospace involves troubleshooting and repairing various aircraft systems and structures. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and functionality of aircraft by performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on components such as engines, landing gear, and flight controls. The mechanic will utilize a range of tools and equipment to carry out their duties and must be qualified in NDI Level II.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and functional components using hand tools and power tools.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Perform various inspections including 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, and phase inspections.
• Examine engines for malfunctions and inspect components for defects such as cracks and corrosion.
• Test engine operation using testing equipment to locate sources of malfunction.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components, including carburetors and alternators.
• Remove engines from aircraft and inspect parts for wear and defects before reassembly.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• At least 1 year of experience within the last 5 years.
• Ability to adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
• Experience performing preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Supervisory experience in jacking and towing of aircraft.

Nice-to-haves

• Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensing may be required.
