A critical aspect of this position is the early identification of emerging credit problems and industry trends, which is essential for maintaining the health of the portfolio and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The essential duties include leading the entire commercial underwriting process, which encompasses underwriting, structuring, and documenting all transactions with prospects and clients. The individual will independently handle the most complex deals, including those involving PEG-owned and leveraged clients, and will be responsible for analyzing individual company performance and the impact of industry dynamics and macroeconomic events on creditworthiness. In terms of portfolio management, the individual will be accountable for monitoring performance and trends, proactively defining client credit solutions, and managing all amendments and waivers in the assigned portfolio. The role requires a forward-focused, independent, and collaborative approach to risk management, ensuring that risk rating integrity and compliance are maintained. The position also involves expanding client relationships through consistent client calling efforts and collaborating with internal product partners to develop solutions that meet client needs while adhering to the bank's risk acceptance criteria. The individual will partner closely with Investment Banking peers to deliver complex financing solutions and will be expected to maintain extensive knowledge of corporate banking, investment banking, and commercial banking solutions, as well as market trends and business drivers. Additionally, the role includes mentoring and coaching junior team members, managing tasks with the help of assigned Associates and Analysts, and providing independent risk recommendations that are ultimately approved by the risk approval officer.
