About the position

The CCIE Principal Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves leading complex network projects with minimal supervision and requires a strong background in various networking technologies and security principles.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless controllers, and VPNs.
  • Leads the planning, design, and implementation of network architecture and solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Evaluates and recommends network technologies, tools, and services to enhance network performance, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions into the overall IT infrastructure and ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability.
  • Monitors network performance and troubleshoots network issues, identifying and resolving network outages, bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Conducts network capacity planning to ensure scalability and optimize network performance.
  • Defines and enforces network security policies, standards, and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Participates in on-call rotation schedule for after-hours troubleshooting and support.

Requirements

  • Active CCIE certification required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Required).
  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level Network Infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and managing Palo Alto firewalls.
  • General experience and knowledge working with network monitoring, management tools, and packet capture analysis such as SNMP, NetFlow, Cisco ISE, Thousand Eyes, DNA.
  • General experience and working knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACI, SD-WAN, WiFi protocols, and VPNs.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring systems.
  • General experience and strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including network segmentation, access control, and threat mitigation.
