We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with over 7 years of hands-on experience in building, implementing, and supporting network hardware and devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in configuring and managing ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) within a Data Center environment. This position is critical as the Network Engineer will be responsible for developing and supporting network and Data Center solutions, ensuring the seamless operation of our network infrastructure. The role will require the individual to work on-site two days a week in Silver Spring, MD, with the main hospital located in Washington, DC, where Children's National has taken over a floor. The Network Engineer will play a pivotal role in several technical projects, including the implementation of ACI within our data centers, moving Data Center workloads to Equinix Data Center in Virginia, and setting up Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) at a facility located in Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally, the engineer will be tasked with establishing express routes and connectivity to various Cloud platforms, including AWS, OCI, and Azure. This position requires a proactive approach to planning and implementing necessary hardware and software upgrades, as well as monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing detailed documentation regarding the various network environments, which is essential for the change control process and maintaining the technical documentation repository. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in network engineering is required, with a strong emphasis on practical experience in configuring and installing various network devices and services. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of standard networking protocols, virtual environments, and hybrid cloud solutions, along with the ability to provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting for complex network issues.
