The Network Engineer position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, focusing on the design and implementation of Cisco Wireless Infrastructure. The role involves working with various log and monitoring aggregation tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Wireshark. A strong understanding of Cisco AnyConnect VPN (ASA/FirePower) and Palo Alto Networks (FW/VPN) is essential. The candidate will be responsible for managing switched and routed data networks and protocols in a multi-platform environment, ensuring high availability and performance. The position also requires expertise in IT Network Discovery, documentation, and inventory management, as well as vulnerability management and network support for data center routing, switching, Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN, and SDWAN services. In addition to technical skills, the role demands effective communication with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders. The Network Engineer will work closely with vendors to implement products and services, ensuring compliance with IT standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities include authoring technical documentation such as network infrastructure diagrams, performing IP migration planning, and coordinating with multiple teams to build an application list. The candidate will also be involved in firmware upgrades and support for network switches, routers, firewalls, and client devices as necessary for vulnerability management. After-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance may be required as part of the job.
