About the position
The General Maintenance Technician (GMT) plays a crucial role in supporting both internal and external client needs by performing manual labor related to facility projects. This position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to company policies while ensuring high-quality service delivery in construction and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain rapport with co-workers and client representatives.
- Comply with all guidelines, policies, and procedures established by CCI Industrial Services and clients.
- Maintain 100% safety standards and accountability in all areas of work.
- Participate in safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
- Communicate daily status of current projects to Facility Operations and the O&M Superintendent.
- Assist others on special project needs as appropriate.
- Perform various manual labor tasks including pipe stripping, scaffold erection, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Operate and supervise vehicles and equipment in adverse conditions.
- Conduct inspections of shop, field, and vehicles.
- Coach and train CCI crew members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to clearly speak, write, read, and understand the English language.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- NSTC Certification.
- Knowledge of safety programs and regulatory requirements related to the position.
- Ability to prepare reports and correspondence as required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-haves
- Current Alaska 40 Hour Asbestos Abatement Certification.
- Experience in Oil & Gas Facility Operations with knowledge of production systems and equipment.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Familiarity with Greater Prudhoe Bay facilities.
