About the position

Dedicated local drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike some driver positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of miles and hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments. Competitive pay: Selected routes average between $1,288 - $1,730 per week / $67,000 - $90,000 per year. Starting pay is .59 cpm with an average of 2,000 miles per week and $20.25 stop pay, averaging 5-8 stops per week. Detention and breakdown pay are also available. Home daily with some day and night positions. Start and end times depend on selected route. The work week consists of five days including weekend work, with Monday and another day off depicted by bid run. The job involves hauling food products, miscellaneous goods, and furniture to big box retail store locations in GA, NC, and SC. A mix of reefer and dry van is used, with reefer experience not needed as training will be provided. This position involves 100% no touch freight. Drivers are able to bid on new routes twice a year, with re-bid on routes taking place in late March, allowing all drivers the opportunity to pick a route by seniority that best fits their schedule. Several routes will also include a backhaul.

Responsibilities

• Open/Close Trailer Doors - force requirement: 46 lbs

• Complete fuel tickets

• Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90lbs(Class A Only)
• Perform pre-trip inspections
• Drive
• Regular predictable attendance
• Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
• Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level

Requirements

• Drivers must live within a 75-mile radius
• Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
• Drivers must have Class A CDL
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
• No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
• No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
• No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years
