About the position

Join US Foods as a Delivery Driver and become a vital part of our team that is leading the foodservice industry. In this role, you will be responsible for safely driving trucks to deliver products to our customers while ensuring that you meet scheduled delivery times. You will be expected to unload products from the trailer using equipment such as a two-wheeler or pallet jack, and place them in designated storage areas at customer locations. Accuracy is key, as you will verify delivery details with customers and obtain necessary signatures. Additionally, you may handle collections and payments when applicable, and you will be expected to provide excellent customer service to enhance the client experience. Pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment are also part of your responsibilities to ensure safety and compliance. As a Delivery Driver, you will work a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, with dispatch starting at 3 AM. The position offers a competitive starting wage of $32.96 per hour for the first six months, which increases to $37.08 thereafter. New hires may also be eligible for a $5,000 hiring bonus. Responsibilities

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place them in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
