About the position

The CDL A Driver position at Greco and Sons involves operating a commercial vehicle to deliver food and restaurant-related items to customers on local routes. Drivers are expected to load and unload products at various stops, ensuring timely and efficient service while adhering to safety regulations. Responsibilities

  • Run daily routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
  • Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas.
  • Transport product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
  • Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds.
  • Reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and hand carts.
  • Bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Contact management for authorization when discrepancies are on invoices.
  • Communicate all errors/returns and call in when a customer does not receive their entire order.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and manage company equipment properly.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with DOT regulations and Sysco policies.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year customer delivery experience preferred.
  • 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.
  • 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred.
  • 2 years consistent work history preferred.
