About the position

Averitt is seeking elite drivers to join our award-winning On Tour Logistics team, where entertainment driving meets the open road. Our drivers are responsible for transporting essential gear for artists, including stage equipment, sound systems, and lighting, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently during tours and production runs. This role offers a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the entertainment industry while maintaining a stable driving career. The position requires a commitment to completing assigned tours, which can last anywhere from 10 days to 10 months, with production runs ranging from 7 to 21 days. Drivers will primarily operate on irregular routes across all 48 contiguous states and Canada, with a focus on night driving. In addition to driving, drivers are required to assist in loading and unloading trailers, securing loads with bars and straps, and demonstrating good backing skills to navigate unique unloading arrangements at various venues. This position not only offers competitive pay starting at $1,800 per week but also provides opportunities for growth and additional earnings through mileage or hourly pay when not on tours. Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer to transport gear for artists during tours and production runs.
• Assist in loading and unloading trailers, securing loads with load bars and straps.
• Demonstrate good backing skills for unique unloading arrangements at venues.
• Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain regular predictable attendance.
• Count freight and complete fuel tickets as required.
• Hook and unhook trailers, managing the physical demands of the job.

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years, including 6 months of entertainment driving experience.
• Must possess a Class A CDL and be willing to obtain a hazmat endorsement.
• Must be willing to complete flatbed certification.
• No convictions for reckless driving, DUI, or DWI within the past 5 years.
• No suspensions or revocations for moving violations within the last 5 years.
• No serious violations within the previous 12 months.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years.
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in entertainment driving is a plus but not mandatory.
• Leadership approval for transfer into the position after 30 days of driving with the team.
