About the position

Averitt is seeking elite drivers to join our award-winning On Tour Logistics team, where entertainment driving meets the thrill of the open road. Our drivers are responsible for transporting essential gear for artists, including stage equipment, sound systems, and lighting, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and efficiently. This role is not just about driving; it’s about being part of the excitement that comes with the entertainment industry. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to travel across all 48 contiguous states and Canada, participating in tours that can last anywhere from 10 days to 10 months, and production runs that typically last between 7 to 21 days. This position offers a unique 'irregular route' driving experience, which means no two days are the same, and you will be challenged to adapt to various driving conditions and venue requirements. In addition to the thrill of the job, we offer competitive pay starting at $1,800 per week, with opportunities for growth and additional earnings when not on tour. Our drivers are expected to assist in loading and unloading trailers, securing loads with bars and straps, and demonstrating excellent backing skills, especially in venues with unique unloading arrangements. The role primarily involves night driving, which adds to the excitement of the job. Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer to transport freight for entertainment events.
• Assist in loading and unloading trailers, securing loads with bars and straps.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete fuel tickets.
• Open and close trailer doors, requiring physical strength.
• Count freight and ensure accurate delivery of items.
• Maintain regular attendance and adhere to driving schedules.
• Adapt to unique unloading arrangements at various venues.
• Participate in tours and production runs across the U.S. and Canada.

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years, including 6 months of entertainment driving experience.
• Must possess a Class A CDL and be willing to obtain a hazmat endorsement.
• Must be willing to complete flatbed certification.
• No convictions for reckless driving, DUI, or DWI within the past 5 years.
• No suspensions or revocations for moving violations within the last 5 years.
• No serious violations within the previous 12 months.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years.
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in entertainment driving is a plus but not mandatory.
• Leadership approval for transfer into the position after 30 days of driving with the team.
