About the position

The Transport Driver at AmeriGas is responsible for safely transporting propane from supply points to various AmeriGas facilities. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and safety, as drivers will operate tanker trucks, perform inspections, and manage loading and unloading of propane. The position involves significant driving, with an average of 500 miles per day and the potential for long hours, including overnight trips.

Responsibilities

• Drive a tanker truck to pick up propane at supply points and deliver it to AmeriGas facilities.
• Perform twice daily truck inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Attach terminal hoses to the truck connections to pump propane into the tanker.
• Use hoses stored on the truck to unload propane at delivery points.
• Climb ladders at some facilities to check gauges at the top of bulk tanks.

Requirements

• 3 years of tractor and trailer experience.
• Minimum of 200,000 miles driven.
• 1 year of tanker experience within the last 3 years (preferred).
• Hazmat and tanker endorsement required.
• Eligible for a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
• No accidents in the previous 3 years.
• No more than one moving violation in the previous 2 years.
