About the position
Gulfeagle Supply is seeking a dedicated CDL Class A or B Local Driver to join our team at the Valdosta Branch. In this role, you will be responsible for safely driving to job sites, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations, and following company policies and procedures. You will assist in loading and securing materials on trucks and help unload them using various methods, including cranes and conveyors. As a driver, you will represent our company on the job site, leading and supervising others while ensuring that our customers receive the best service possible. You will be required to perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain the cleanliness of your vehicle. The role involves physical demands, including the ability to lift heavy materials and climb ladders, as well as working in various weather conditions. Responsibilities
- Safely drive to job sites using the most efficient routes.
- Observe and obey all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.
- Help unload materials using cranes, conveyors, piggybacks, and/or by hand.
- Lead, instruct, and supervise others on the job site.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
Requirements
- Valid state CDL Class A or B Driver's License with clear MVR and DOT record.
- Must be 21 years old or older.
- Must have current and valid Medical Certification Card.
- Must have held a CDL driving position the previous year with consecutive driving experience.
- High degree of attention and considerable dexterity in vehicle control.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
- Willingness to climb on rooftops and ensure proper stacking (location based).
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 100 pounds of material for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb a 40' ladder (location based).
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass a company-required drug screening; all employees are subject to random drug testing.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous material handling experience.
- Previous forklift experience.
- Certified to operate a crane.
