About the position

The CDL Driver Class B - Front Load position at AAA Environmental Industries Inc involves operating front-end trucks to collect and transport waste or recyclables from various multi-family residential and commercial routes. The driver will be responsible for servicing multiple customers daily, ensuring safe and efficient waste management in compliance with customer contracts and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive commercial frontload trucks along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
  • Open container enclosures or gates to access waste cans and roll 3-4-yard cans into position for dumping as needed.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit a vehicle condition report at the end of each shift.
  • Interact courteously with customers and the general public, addressing questions or requests along the route.
  • Notify the supervisor of any issues requiring management action during the route.
  • Clean loose trash off the truck and surrounding area to maintain a clean customer site and ensure safety along roads and highways.
  • Maintain and submit a logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report as required by law or company policy.
  • Maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors for backing up.
  • Utilize a key map and GPS to locate service addresses effectively.
  • Follow safe operating practices, including lock out/tag out procedures, to ensure proper truck operation.
  • Monitor operations for loose debris and visually scan customer sites before and after dumping.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of commercial truck driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
  • Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

  • Knowledge of the truck and its components and basic maintenance requirements for safe operation.
  • Ability to recognize unacceptable waste materials such as gasoline or other flammable substances.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents and maps.
