About the position

The Class B CDL Driver at Thompson Industrial Services is responsible for operating various types of equipment, including Roll Off Trailers and Dry Vans, while managing customer environmental programs by transporting waste. This role serves as a primary contact for environmental and hazardous waste, ensuring safety and compliance during operations. The position involves physical labor and requires adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer.
• Hands-on operation of vacuum equipment and hydroblasting equipment.
• Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps.
• Energize pumping equipment and/or specialized hydroblasting and/or chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
• Examine surfaces cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job.
• Direct a crew of vacuum technicians as needed.
• Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections, driver's logs, and comply with all vehicle policy and DOT requirements.
• Load and unload hoses and vacuum truck at the dump site.
• Provide general maintenance in the field.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Class B CDL License required.
• Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training and on-the-job training.
• Valid driver's license and compliance with company's driving policy.
• Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device.
• Knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
• Experience operating a vacuum truck and knowledge of equipment used in wet and dry vacuums.

Nice-to-haves

• HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements preferred.
• Experience with Hydroblasting, Vacuum Trucks, Warehouse/Manufacturing, General Labor, Production, and Industrial Field experience.
