About the position

The position involves delivering materials to job sites, maintaining the truck, and ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate deliveries. The role requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License and emphasizes safety, customer service, and compliance with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Delivers materials to job site and unloads them to customers' satisfaction.
• Inspects and maintains the truck, ensuring it is clean and operational.
• Prepares DOT required log of time on duty and driving.
• Organizes and secures loads for safe transport.
• Checks orders for accuracy before delivery.
• Assists forklift operators when loading materials onto the truck.
• Records all merchandise returned by truck and assists in unloading materials returned for credit.
• Follows guidelines established by the Department of Transportation.
• Participates in maintaining good housekeeping in the yard and warehouse.
• Completes daily equipment pre-inspection and participates in assigned trainings.

Requirements

• Minimum education preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum experience preferred: 6 months CDL experience.
• Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required.
• 1 year CDL experience required for interstate commerce.
• Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
• Effective communication skills with customers and coworkers, both verbal and written.
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
• Maintains current operator's license and meets company driver qualification requirements.
• Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., Smartphone, GPS, and other necessary business applications).
