About the position
Wooden Nickel Trucking is seeking full-time Class A CDL Short Haul Drivers to join our team as part of the Amazon Freight Partner program. This position is based in Denver, Colorado, and offers a consistent weekly schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off. As a local small business, we provide the benefits of a large company while exclusively hauling for Amazon. We are currently making on-the-spot job offers contingent on meeting eligibility and background check requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for hauling Amazon loads, primarily no-touch freight, using state-of-the-art Amazon-branded equipment and technology, including brand new sleeper cabs. You will service round-trip routes on 36-hour shifts, which consist of a 13-hour run followed by a 10-hour break, and then another 13-hour run. This schedule ensures a minimum of 47 hours of work per week, allowing you to play an important and respected role in keeping Amazon's commitment to exceed customer expectations and deliver packages on time and at the right place. Working for an Amazon Freight Partner comes with numerous benefits. You will be home for 4 consecutive days each week after your shifts, and you will also be home one night between shifts, enabling you to spend more time with family and friends. With hourly pay starting at $26 per hour, you can count on predictable earnings. Additionally, we offer W2 employment with paid time off, health and dental insurance, and a safety bonus.
Responsibilities
- Haul Amazon loads using state-of-the-art Amazon-branded equipment and technology.
- Service round-trip routes on 36-hour shifts with a minimum of 47 hours per week.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the general public and respond to official inquiries.
- Utilize handheld technology and smartphone applications such as GPS.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with 2 years of experience.
- Successfully pass DOT Physical.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- No current CDL suspension or revocation.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC Report.
- Successfully pass a background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
