The CDL Truck Driver position at Farwest Steel Corporation involves operating and maintaining a company-owned day cab semi-tractor and flatbed trailer to deliver steel products primarily to the greater Reno area. Responsibilities

• Receive a daily transfer trailer from Stockton and deliver steel as directed by Shipping Personnel.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering material on time and maintaining a professional attitude.
• Develop rapport with personnel at customer facilities to optimize time and information exchange.
• Comply with federal requirements to maintain equipment for safe operation on the road.
• Perform required equipment checks and document any deficiencies.
• Maintain an accurate electronic log book and keep a current CDL and DOT medical card.
• Share information with sales staff to improve customer service and on-time deliveries.

Requirements

• Current Class A CDL license.
• Ability to chain-up as needed when going over passes into Nevada.
• Good driving record with tractor/trailer driving experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand written and oral instructions.
• Ability to make mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work alone as well as in a team environment.
