About the position

The Akamai CDN Engineer position is focused on managing and optimizing content delivery networks (CDNs) using Akamai technologies. The role combines expertise in CDN management with DevOps practices, requiring a solid understanding of web development, particularly on AWS and Kubernetes platforms. The engineer will ensure efficient and secure delivery of digital content to a global audience, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Akamai services into applications.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, optimize, and maintain Akamai CDN solutions to enhance content delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Akamai services into applications.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications and content.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability.
  • Develop and maintain web applications, APIs, and microservices.
  • Leverage AWS services (such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway) to build scalable and resilient solutions.
  • Utilize Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
  • Monitor CDN performance metrics and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Optimize cache settings, routing rules, and security configurations within Akamai.
  • Implement security best practices for CDN configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and security experts.
  • Document system architecture, configurations, and deployment processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CDN management, DevOps, and web development.
  • Strong proficiency in Akamai CDN configuration and administration.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.) and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and technologies, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Ansible.
  • Solid understanding of software testing and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
