The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Office of Human Resources (OHR) in Colorado Springs. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the recruitment and retention strategies for the department, which is the largest state agency in Colorado, employing nearly 6,500 individuals across 20 facilities and 19 parole offices. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative recruitment strategies that align with the organizational needs of CDOC, particularly focusing on hard-to-fill positions. This role requires a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in recruitment practices, ensuring that these principles are integrated into all hiring processes. In this fast-paced and friendly environment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will utilize various strategies to promote careers within CDOC through social media, virtual events, and in-person engagements. The position involves frequent travel throughout the state and occasional travel outside of Colorado, necessitating flexibility in work hours, including potential responsibilities outside of normal business hours. The successful candidate will be expected to create a pipeline of qualified candidates, monitor compensation and job market trends, and establish partnerships with workforce centers, colleges, and other organizations to attract diverse talent. The role also includes responsibilities such as developing and maintaining a comprehensive tracking system for recruitment efforts, conducting follow-ups with hiring managers to assess the effectiveness of recruiting strategies, and planning specific initiatives to engage potential candidates.
