About the position

CDS Full Time Event Manager - Product Demonstration at Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a pivotal role that involves the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of in-store Product Demonstrators. The Event Manager will be responsible for overseeing product preparation and presentation, ensuring that all demonstrations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a strong emphasis on training and providing exceptional service to all Club members, which is essential for maintaining the reputation of CDS as the preferred in-house event marketing provider for Costco. In this role, the Event Manager will need to establish and maintain effective communication with warehouse managers, vendors, and in-store Product Demonstrators. This includes participating in new location grand openings, where the Event Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that all aspects of the product demonstration are executed flawlessly. The position is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong leadership skills, as they will be responsible for managing a team of part-time staff and ensuring that they are well-trained and motivated to deliver excellent customer service. The Event Manager will work a set schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, although this may vary based on the needs of the business. Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train and hire part-time staff.
  • Oversee product preparation and presentation, including food safety and sanitation.
  • Train Product Demonstrators in demonstration preparation and excellent customer services.
  • Communicate between multiple managers, vendors, and demonstrators.
  • Participate in new location grand openings as required.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Two to four years of related experience in retail, hospitality, or food environments.
  • Detail oriented with excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead well-performing teams.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Able to coach and counsel employees, taking corrective measures as needed.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
