About the position

The CECS Web and Marketing Coordinator at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is responsible for leading the development of marketing and communication materials across various platforms to support student recruitment and success initiatives. This role involves web content creation, editing, and curation using the Drupal CMS, while ensuring compliance with university branding and guidelines. The position requires collaboration with faculty, staff, and external relations teams, and is a blend of remote and in-person work, with an expected starting date in January 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing marketing and promotional strategies on the web and through social media platforms in support of the CECS student recruiting effort.
  • Review the College website, identify and implement improvements to content as well as organization of content.
  • Design, develop, schedule, post, and analyze engagement of social media content for the web and for the main platforms used by the university, including photos and videos.
  • Review new content for academic programs with relevant faculty and staff.
  • Work with the CECS units to ensure all pages of umdearborn.edu/cecs are up-to-date; this includes selecting and organizing multimedia assets for each page (including but not limited to, photos and videos).
  • Coordinate efforts with the External Relations teams.
  • Support the CECS units in terms of quality assurance with their content.
  • Work with units to ensure that unpublished/draft content is needed on the site, and if not, work with Web Services to delete content.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or related fields.
  • Two years of professional marketing/communications experience.
  • Experience in social media applications in a corporate/educational setting (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X).
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop and post content, and track and perform analytics on social media tracking data reports.
