About The Position
Sompo International is seeking a Ceded Re Operations Analyst to join our Ceded Reinsurance team, which is a globalized, customer-focused, dedicated, and professional organization. This team is responsible for the purchasing and management of Ceded Reinsurance placements. The Ceded Operations Analyst will provide operations process support and analysis focusing on ceded contracts. This position will be based out of our New York City office, where we strive for collaboration and offer an environment where our employees can thrive and develop long-lasting careers. In this role, the Ceded Operations Analyst will manage ceded contract placements and perform the setup of ceded contract information in the sub-ledger system (FSRI). The analyst will work closely with the Buying team to ensure proper coding in FSRI based on contract wording. Ensuring data accuracy is crucial, which includes coordinating the reconciliation of treaty results with the accounting team to confirm that the ceded results align with the terms of the reinsurance agreements for the Global businesses. The analyst will also produce analysis and develop solutions for issues raised by Ceded accounting and other areas outside of Ceded operations related to Ceded System calculations. Additionally, the Ceded Operations Analyst will maintain and develop routine controls to ensure the accuracy of Ceded financials as calculated by the system. This includes maintaining SOX control documentation, such as treaty setup documentation and treaty population completeness controls. The role will also involve ad hoc projects, including onboarding new business lines, testing system upgrades, data enhancements, and process documentation.
