About the position

The CEHE Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Center for Community Engagement and Health Equity (CEHE) at Yale University. This position is focused on developing, organizing, coordinating, implementing, and executing various projects and activities aimed at reducing cancer incidence and mortality among underrepresented populations within the Yale Cancer Center catchment area. The Coordinator will work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment that fosters community engagement and scientific collaboration. Reporting directly to CEHE leadership, the Coordinator will collaborate closely with senior staff to manage Center-wide projects across all related program areas. This role involves significant community outreach and engagement activities, as well as providing support for the Community Advisory Board. The Coordinator will also assist with the launch and ongoing activities of special initiatives within CEHE. In this role, the Coordinator will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing programmatic activities that align with the overall mission of CEHE. This includes developing and maintaining operational policies and procedures, managing program communications, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support for the program. The Coordinator will work closely with leadership and community residents to implement strategic plans and cultivate community partnerships that contribute to the program's growth. Regular tracking of program activities and progress reporting to leadership will be essential, along with recommending adjustments based on the program's missions and goals. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist in identifying potential funding sources and contribute to grant submissions, including writing content and budgetary sections. Managing the program's operating budget and administrative infrastructure, including human resources and information systems, will also be key responsibilities. The Coordinator may perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that all activities align with the mission of CEHE and support its objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in community-engaged research or programming.
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods to program operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and appropriately.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in writing grant proposals, abstracts, manuscripts, and progress reports.

Nice-to-haves
