About the position

The CEI Senior Project Engineer at Volkert is responsible for overseeing construction engineering administration and inspection for projects in the Southeast Region. This role involves planning and organizing work, ensuring compliance with client standards, and maintaining professional relationships to facilitate project success. The engineer will also prepare proposals, manage project schedules and budgets, and conduct site inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Direct construction engineering administration and inspection for projects/programs.
  • Plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members; develop and/or review project specific policies, methods, practices, and procedures.
  • Review programs for conformance with Client standards.
  • Identify and pursue future opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with organizations for project completion and follow-on assignments.
  • Prepare proposals and estimates for new projects.
  • Review technical work and reports prepared by others.
  • Manage projects to ensure schedules and budgets are met.
  • Conduct periodic visits to construction or work sites for inspections.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering degree.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in Major Road and Bridge Construction.
  • Familiarity with FDOT Policies and Procedures, especially District 3.
  • FDOT Advanced MOT Certification.
  • Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
