About the position

The Celebrity Acquisition Manager is responsible for researching and recruiting talent for all Fan Expo HQ events. This role involves collaborating with the President of Fan Expo HQ and the Director of Strategy of Business Development to achieve celebrity content objectives and develop guest acquisition strategies. The position requires a strong understanding of pop culture, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with talent agencies and booking agents.

Responsibilities

  • Build guest lists for all content genres for FXHQ events in collaboration with the FX President and genre experts.
  • Interact and build strong relationships with booking agents and talent agencies.
  • Support and lead negotiations and contracting discussions with agents and agencies.
  • Transfer negotiated terms to the contracting team and assist in creating contracts during high volume periods.
  • Establish and maintain research and advisory teams to inform and develop strategy.
  • Research the pop culture convention market to ensure high value propositions for fan communities and sponsors.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive database of historic guest appearances and actor profiles.
  • Manage and communicate guest rankings and classifications for marketing and promotion.
  • Monitor competitive events to ensure FAN EXPO offers a premier product.
  • Manage and track all open conversations with prospective talent in collaboration with the FX President.

Requirements

  • Experience in social media management.
  • Strong understanding of celebrity news, culture, and events.
  • Ability to negotiate complex contracts following business strategy and revenue plans.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, and social media platforms.
