About the position

The Cell Manager of Assembly at Janicki Industries is responsible for overseeing and coordinating manufacturing processes within a designated cell. This role involves managing the production of aerospace parts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Cell Manager will lead a team of technicians, facilitate on-the-job training, and ensure that all operations meet industry standards such as AS9100 and Nadcap.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in a manufacturing cell.
  • Manage the various components of Aerospace Parts production in accordance with Customer Specifications and Requirements.
  • Anticipate and mitigate obstacles in the production cycle.
  • Estimate production times and staffing requirements for management decisions.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
  • Read and understand blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders.
  • Manage technicians in the assembly and fitment of aircraft structural parts and sub-assemblies with high tolerances.
  • Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs.
  • Manage the alignment, fit, assembly, connection, or installation of system components using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Manage the adjustment, repair, rework, or replacement of parts and assemblies.
  • Develop and support on-the-job training activities.
  • Comply with safety and 5S standards.
  • Understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, free from FOD.
  • Perform on-the-job training for project certifications, AS9100, Nadcap training, and other required training.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Maintain good attendance as a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3-5 years specialized training after high school or equivalent on-the-job training related to the job description.
  • 1-3 years of actual related job experience.
  • Familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures in Metrology and Assembly, including detailed hardware installation and assembly of various parts and models.
  • Strong grasp of GD&T principles.
  • Ability to read and understand highly technical drawings and documents such as blueprints and CAD models.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
