About the position

The Cell Manager of Assembly at Janicki Industries is responsible for overseeing and coordinating manufacturing processes within a designated cell. This role involves managing the production of aerospace parts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage technicians and facilitate on-the-job training, while also addressing production challenges and optimizing workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in a manufacturing cell.
  • Manage the various components of Aerospace Parts production in accordance with Customer Specifications and Requirements.
  • Anticipate and mitigate obstacles in the production cycle.
  • Estimate production times and staffing requirements to inform management decisions.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
  • Read and understand blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders.
  • Manage technicians in the assembly and fitment of aircraft structural parts and subassemblies with high tolerances.
  • Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs.
  • Manage the alignment, fit, assembly, connection, or installation of system components using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Manage the adjustment, repair, rework, or replacement of parts and assemblies.
  • Develop and support on-the-job training activities.
  • Comply with safety and 5S standards.
  • Understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, free from FOD.
  • Perform on-the-job training for project certifications, AS9100, Nadcap training, and other required training activities.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Maintain good attendance as a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3-5 years of specialized training after high school or equivalent on-the-job training related to the job description.
  • 1-3 years of actual related job experience.
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as Metrology and Assembly.
  • Strong grasp of GD&T principles.
  • Ability to read and understand highly technical drawings and documents such as blueprints and/or CAD models.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
