About the position

The Cellar Technician position at Gallo's Chester County Operations involves supporting cellar operations by unloading liquid products, blending, and preparing products for production. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and safety of the production process while working in a team-oriented environment on a night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Support Cellar operations by completing tank CIP, equipment CIP, filler CIP, bulk ingredient and liquid receiving and shipping, and sampling.
  • Assist in batch blending, ingredient additions, carbon loading/unloading, and carbonator operations under direct supervision.
  • Enlist Cellar leadership for process troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of production systems, such as Winemanager and LIMs.
  • Work on various truck and rail stations for shipping and receiving as per work orders and schedules.
  • Execute bottling line CIP change overs.
  • Demonstrate situational awareness in the Cellar, focusing on Safety and Quality.
  • Follow and support improvements to work policies and procedures.
  • Communicate consistently with team members and Cellar leadership.
  • Interact with HMI technology.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with Food Safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus one year of beverage production or manufacturing experience.
  • Physically capable of executing job tasks within the scope of responsibilities for Cellar operations.
  • Ability to lift, roll, and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10).
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to wear a respirator when required.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Compliance with company GMP policies.
  • Basic knowledge of data entry into production/quality systems.
