About the position

As a Cellular RF Hardware Design Engineer at Apple, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing radio frequency (RF) hardware circuits and systems for wireless communication devices. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the entire lifecycle of cellular radio platforms, from initial concept studies through to mass production. Your responsibilities will include architecting RF front-end designs to meet the wireless product requirements, performing RF system lineup analysis to ensure compliance with industry and internal standards, and creating and maintaining specifications for RF components while driving their development with vendors. Additionally, you will engage in schematic capture and PCB design, integrating cellular radio platforms into Apple products. This role requires a passion for solving complex challenges and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Architect RF front end designs to meet wireless product requirements.
  • Perform RF system lineup analysis to ensure compliance with industry and internal standards.
  • Create and maintain specifications for RF components and drive component development with vendors.
  • Engage in schematic capture and PCB design.
  • Integrate cellular radio platforms into Apple products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of directly relevant experience.
  • Experience with radio hardware design and/or RF component design.
  • Familiarity with the challenges of development for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with RF circuits and hardware on the lab bench.
  • Understanding of core technologies and physics that drive innovative RF performance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in wireless communications standards and market trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record in a dynamic multi-functional team.
  • Well organized with the ability to be flexible in a changing work environment.
  • Experience with cellular handsets.
  • Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, and Matlab.
  • Experience with Python for test setup automation and data analysis.
