About the position

The Clinical Research Data Coordinator at Mayo Clinic is responsible for managing and abstracting clinical and demographic data to support various levels of management in planning and improving clinical outcomes. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining reports from IDX systems and other sources to monitor program outcomes and fulfill reporting requirements for state and national organizations. The position also includes data management support for registry/database clinical trials, ensuring timely data collection and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Abstract clinical and demographic data for management use.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain reports from IDX systems and hospital systems.
  • Monitor outcomes for programs and research projects.
  • Provide clinical data support for performance measurements and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in Disease/Discipline Oriented Groups (DOGs) to identify clinical data needs.
  • Independently prioritize assignments and complete ongoing tasks following established guidelines.
  • Support Institutional Review Board (IRB) research driven studies with extramural funding.
  • Perform administrative duties as directed by the Clinical Research Unit Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Expertise in statistical computing and data management systems.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and working independently.
  • Ability to provide education through seminars/training.
  • Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of PC workstations and Microsoft applications (Access, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
