About the position

The CEM Advising and Recruiting Coordinator at the UAF College of Engineering and Mines serves as a primary point of contact for engineering students and their families. This role involves independent advising and teamwork to coordinate outreach and services, including event planning and communication campaigns. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills to assist students in building degree plans and overcoming academic obstacles, while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering students and their families.
• Coordinate student outreach and services within the college.
• Plan events, communication campaigns, employment fairs, and research symposia.
• Assist students in building degree plans and engaging with community activities.
• Provide informed answers regarding UAF programs, financial aid, and student services.
• Work independently and collaboratively with faculty to improve advising processes.
• Present UAF and CEM positively to diverse populations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in a student-centered or customer service-oriented setting.
• Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software tools.
• Exposure to higher education software, such as Banner, is a plus.
