About the position

The Hardware Engineering Lead at BAE Systems is a senior-level role focused on leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in the design and development of advanced electro-mechanical products. Responsibilities

  • Provide project level leadership to ensure successful execution of program plans and accomplishment of engineering department goals.
  • Guide teams performing research, development, and consulting assignments of a professional technical nature.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics to ensure efficient team performance.
  • Implement established Hardware Engineering design processes to achieve product quality and consistency.
  • Support new business capture and proposal teams with development of hardware engineering cost/schedule estimates.
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports, documents, and presentations for internal/external distribution.
  • Develop and implement design solutions, processes, and systems within budget and schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with commensurate experience leading engineering teams.
  • Solid technical leadership practices for multi-disciplinary engineering teams engaged in the design and development of state-of-the-art electro-mechanical products.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics.
  • Experience supporting new business capture and proposal teams with development of hardware engineering cost/schedule estimates.
  • Ability to develop and implement design solutions, processes, and systems within budget and schedule requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current DoD Security Clearance
  • Certification for Earned Value Management System (EVMS) project management techniques
  • Experience in design & development of RF technologies, antennas, amplifiers
  • Experience in designing to cost (DTUPC) constraints
  • Experience in designing for manufacturability.
