About the position

The Hardware Engineering Lead position at BAE Systems involves leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in the design and development of advanced electro-mechanical products. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of program plans and achieving engineering department goals, particularly within the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) business. The position requires a blend of technical leadership, project management, and collaboration with a diverse team of engineers to deliver innovative hardware solutions that meet stringent quality and reliability standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project level leadership to ensure successful execution of program plans.
  • Guide teams performing research, development, and consulting assignments in hardware engineering.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics.
  • Implement established Hardware Engineering design processes to achieve product quality and consistency.
  • Support new business capture and proposal teams with hardware engineering cost/schedule estimates.
  • Prepare reports, documents, and presentations for internal and external distribution.
  • Develop and implement design solutions, processes, and systems within budget and schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • BSEE or BSME with experience leading engineering teams.
  • Solid technical leadership practices for multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules and budgets.
  • Experience with hardware engineering design processes to ensure product quality.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for interfacing with personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in engineering duties.
  • Experience with RF engineering technologies and principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current DoD Security Clearance
  • Certification for Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience in designing and developing RF technologies, antennas, and amplifiers.
  • Experience in designing to cost constraints and for manufacturability.
