About the position
CalPortland Company is seeking a Cement Terminal Ship Unloader to operate and maintain cement equipment and perform tasks for the efficient operation of the cement terminal. This entry-level position offers a great opportunity to learn a trade in a company with a rich 125-year history and a focus on safety and environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cement equipment for efficient terminal operation
- Operate remotely controlled boom for ship unloading of bulk cement
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on docksider ship unloading equipment, front end loader, and product piping
- Troubleshoot problems and perform mechanical repairs to ship unloading equipment
- Operate winch and bucket machinery for barge loading and unloading at the Seattle Facility
- Operate mobile equipment including forklift, manlift, boom truck, front end loader, and crane
- Monitor product movement to and from storage tanks, coordinating activities with other workers to ensure constant product flow
Requirements
- Entry-level position with willingness to learn
