About the position

The Cemetery General Manager in Training is responsible for managing the daily operations of a cemetery location within the Dignity Memorial® provider network. This role focuses on financial management, operational efficiency, and leadership development, ensuring that the location meets its sales revenue and production targets while exceeding client family expectations. The position offers an opportunity for career growth in the funeral, cremation, and cemetery services business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of a single cemetery location and line of business.
  • Develop annual business plans and budgets in collaboration with Market Leadership.
  • Prepare operational and personnel budgets, and communicate company strategies to staff.
  • Monitor financial trends and collaborate with Finance Field Manager to drive financial goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring on-time services that exceed customer expectations.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Participate in community and civic organizations for local promotional efforts.
  • Maintain facilities and grounds, budgeting for repairs and improvements.
  • Implement annual initiatives affecting resources or goals across locations.
  • Develop a strong team through oversight, guidance, and coaching.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline
  • At least five years of experience with increasing responsibilities
  • At least two years of experience guiding staff and communicating expectations
  • Prior experience managing people is preferred
  • Budgeting and expense control experience preferred
