About the position

The Town of Charlestown is seeking a part-time seasonal Cemetery Sexton responsible for overseeing cemetery operations, including plot sales, burial record management, and public relations. The role involves both administrative tasks and hands-on maintenance of cemetery grounds from April 1 to November 1.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation of the cemeteries.
• Manage sales of plots and record burials.
• File permits and research old burial records.
• Assist with site selection and payments for families.
• Consult with bereaved families regarding their needs.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as mowing and tree trimming.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid NH Drivers License.
• Ability to be bonded.
