About the position

As a Teller/Banker at Security Service Federal Credit Union, you will play a crucial role in delivering the first impression of our credit union to our members. Your primary responsibility will be to become an expert and champion of our products and services, helping members achieve their financial goals. This involves building and nurturing long-lasting relationships by promoting various offerings such as checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance services. You will only offer products and services that align with our members' needs, contributing to their financial success. In this position, you will be a team player, supporting the credit union's mission to become America's Best by meeting sales goals, proactively identifying cross-sell opportunities, and educating members about the digital services available to them. You will provide "universal" service, meaning you will be cross-trained in both teller and banker functions, which will enhance your ability to serve our members effectively. This role offers additional learning and growth opportunities, allowing you to expand your skill set and advance your career within the credit union. The starting pay for this position is $20.00 per hour, and we are looking for candidates who have a desire to learn and grow within the credit union. Prior experience with banking or financial institution core systems and platforms is preferred, as well as experience in recommending products and services that meet customer needs. Our most successful Teller/Bankers are adept at asking high-impact questions to uncover needs that members may not even realize they have, ultimately ensuring they are aware of the services we offer to save them time and money.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the first impression of the credit union to members.
  • Become an expert in Security Service products and services.
  • Build and nurture long-lasting relationships with members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of retail banking, cash handling, customer service, and sales experience or comparable experience.
  • Customer-centric attitude focused on delivering great experiences to members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a goal-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible work schedule during normal business hours.
